It is a space for the experiment on recovering and systematizing information
and knowledge generated by the most recent cycle of confluence social movements
in Europe and by the European Social Forum (ESF) and surrounding process
www.fse-esf.org. The experiment in Europe is in coordination
with similar experiences from other regions.
It is a networking tool. Its core is
a database of groups, organizations, collectives which mobilized themselves around
the ESF process, organized by type of organization, region and theme of action.
It is in the service first of all of the ESF and surroundings confluence process:
helping the self-organization of the ESF themselves as well as the creation of
European and transnational networks. It will produce knowledge and more
self-consciousness among the protagonists of the ESF process; and more focused
actions and strategies for the future. Further development could consider a
larger range of social movement networking activities in Europe.

It is also a tool of reflection and debate: the Guide contains a collection
of a web-bibliography on the process of confluence of social movements at Europe
and critical articles on the ESF and the new movements.

It is an experience of activist research, that it is applying research
in the service of the new cycle of mobilisations for social change inspired
in traditions like the participation action-research and the con-research.
In this sense we are soliciting a debate and exchange of expiriences on the
activist reserchitself.
It is also a space of confluence space of the activist research within
the social movements at the European level. It is curried out by a network
of groups and centres of research,
the Action research network for the ESF
confluence process
which develop the research. Euromovements is also part of the
"Social forum tools and memory European project".
The Guide also contains a specific directory of resources and groups
which are producing research within and around the new movements in Europe.
